Employee Dispute Resolution (EDR)

Court Employee Rights and How to Report Wrongful Conduct

NOTICE: This information is for the employees and interviewed applicants of the United States District Court for the District of Utah and United States Probation Office for the District of Utah.

The United States District Court for the District of Utah is firmly committed to a policy that abusive conduct, discrimination, or harassment—based on race, sex, gender, gender identity, pregnancy, sexual orientation, religion, national origin, age (40 years and over), or disability—is prohibited in the workplace.

The Court has adopted the Employment Dispute Resolution Plan of the United States District Court and the United States Probation Office for the District of Utah (EDR Plan), which allows individuals employed by the District of Utah court employees and interviewed applicants, as well as Probation Office employees and interviewed applicants, to report wrongful conduct in the work place. A Judicial Misconduct Complaint should be filed with the Tenth Circuit.

Court employees, Probation Office employees, and interviewed applicants, resolve, and seek remedies for discrimination, harassment, or other workplace misconduct under the EDR Plan by contacting any of the Court's EDR Coordinators, Court Unit Executives, the Circuit Director of Workplace Relations, or the National Judicial Integrity Officer listed below.

If you experience or observe workplace misconduct or have ideas on improvement of workplace respect and teamwork, communicate with an EDR contact, make a confidential report, request assisted resolution, or file a formal complaint. We need your help to improve our workplace, learn from everyone, and prevent misconduct for continuing or worsening.
