Vendors are contracted at various locations to collect urine samples from defendants. Officers determine the frequency of tests. The vendor is responsible for the call-in testing line along with the times for collections. Clients must report to the designated location during the times stated in the recorded instructions and be prepared to provide an observed specimen. Clients are allowed a reasonable amount of time and a reasonable amount of water in which to provide the sample. Clients are required to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to closing and must be able to provide a urine specimen prior to closing time of the facility.
Clients must provide at least 45 ml (3/4 of a bottle) of urine for testing. If clients are unable to produce by closing time of the facility, the vendor will ask the client to leave and they will report to the Probation Officer a “refused” sample.
Clients must provide to the collector at the time of report to the designated location, copies of any prescriptions and/or over-the-counter drugs taken in the two weeks prior to the specimen. Urine will be tested for drugs and alcohol at a contracted laboratory. There may be additional testing of the specimen.
