The Federal District Court of Utah and its stakeholder agencies operate in a collaborative problem-solving system to reduce recidivism, promote public safety, and improve offenders’ lives through alternative sentencing, specialized reentry related courts, and evidence-based practices (EBP).
Statement of Purpose (Revised May 2016)
Since the inception of the district-wide reentry administrative structure, the District of Utah has transitioned from a learning district to one fully engaged in reentry efforts which identify and adopt practices best utilizing our limited resources. The Courts and every level of stakeholder from agency head to management and staff, consistently collaborate to embrace a philosophy that focuses on treating each person as an individual as well as honoring our traditional roles.
